Sources and how we check the rates
Rates were last read from these documents on 4 November 2026. Primary sources only: the Finance Act, the Income Tax Ordinance and FBR’s own rate cards.
How we check
- Each rate is typed into the code from the document itself, with the section and clause next to it.
- Unit tests recompute every fixed amount printed in the Act's tables and a set of worked examples; a typo fails the build.
- Where FBR's card and the Ordinance disagree, or a rule needs interpretation, the page says so instead of guessing.
- A monthly check watches FBR's rate-card page for a new card. Every June the budget tables are replaced and the tax year moves on.
